Marking That Wears At The Same Rate As The Floor

A line installed between the base coat and the top coat is part of the epoxy flooring. It cannot be lifted by a pallet truck wheel, it does not peel at the edges, and it wears down at the same rate as the surface around it rather than disappearing first.

That is the whole argument for doing it properly. Tape is a temporary measure and paint on top of finished epoxy flooring is a yearly repeat job. Neither survives a forklift turning on the same spot several hundred times a week.

What Usually Gets Marked

Aisle lines and traffic lanes are the standard request, most often in yellow on a grey floor for contrast.

Pedestrian walkways separate people from equipment, and they are the marking most likely to be asked about in a safety audit.

Hazard hatching flags what has to stay clear: electrical panels, eyewash stations, fire equipment, emergency exits and the swing of a roller door.

Bay and rack numbering goes into the floor where stock control depends on it, and equipment outlines mark where a machine or a cage is supposed to sit.

Colour coding whole zones works where a building has separate clean and dirty areas, or where finished goods need keeping apart from raw stock.

Setting The Layout Out On The Floor

We chalk the layout out with you on site before any epoxy flooring is laid, because the drawing and the reality are rarely the same. Racking gets moved, a door gets blocked off, and the route a forklift actually takes is not always the route it was given.

Doing it while the building is empty is the cheapest time to change your mind about any of it.

Standalone Marking On An Existing Floor

Sound epoxy flooring does not need replacing to be marked. Where the existing surface is in reasonable condition we abrade the line positions, install the marking and seal over it, which is a fraction of the cost and the downtime of a full floor.
